You care about the environment and do everything in your power to make sure your business is as green and eco-friendly as possible. Fortunately it is now possible to extend your green credentials beyond the workplace when using external services for example when delivering parcels or packages. Gone are the days when you would have to entrust your deliveries to courier firms which paid no regard to the environment – today many courier companies boast strong environmental credentials.
Look out for accreditations. At Abetta Couriers we are one of only a small number of couriers to have been awarded ISO certification. We were thrilled in 2013 to be awarded ISO9001 and ISO14001 accreditation for “Quality Management” and the “Environment”. The latter proves that we have set up an effective environmental management system and provides assurance to staff and customers that our environmental impact is constantly measured and improved. Our ISO9001 accreditation relates to our success in meeting the criteria for a quality management system.
Check whether your courier offers bespoke delivery services or just sends a standard van regardless of the job. For example at Abetta Couriers we personalise deliveries so they are cost-effective, fast and environmentally friendly. We therefore offer a range of options including vans, motorbikes and even bicycles. If you’re package can be delivered speedily and efficiently by a bicycle courier then it makes sense to use this environmentally friendly option. Obviously there are times when this is not possible and so it is reassuring to know your courier company has the flexibility and resources to provide the best solution for your business needs.
Check the fleet of vehicles the courier company uses. Newer, more modern vehicles are kinder to the environment. At Abetta Couriers we pride ourselves on our fleet of up-to-date, reliable and efficient vehicles which are maintained and serviced regularly to ensure their environmental credentials. Our entire fleet runs on LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) which produces less CO₂ and harmful emissions than diesel or petrol. Branded vehicles are also a good sign that a courier company is proud of its fleet and happy for customers and potential customers to identify its vehicles – an old van belching out fumes is unlikely to instil confidence in potential clients.
